How does it compare?
Cadillac Lyriq revs its electric heart in a dominantly class with its polished flair of a US-made dynamo, standing toe-to-toe with the likes of Tesla Model Y, Ford Mustang Mach-E, BMW iX3, and Mercedes-Benz EQC.
Range
Cadillac Lyriq boasts a commendable range of 483 km (300 miles), which vaults it ahead of the Mercedes-Benz EQC clocking in at around 354 km (220 miles) and comfortably matches the BMW iX3s 460 km (286 miles). However, it lags just a whisker behind the sprinter of the pack, the Tesla Model Y with its marathon-like 525 km (326 miles).
Acceleration
When it comes to slapping tarmac, the Cadillac Lyriq accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. This swift, albeit not as blistering as the Tesla Model Y which blazes through in 3.5 seconds, is on par with the athletic Ford Mustang Mach-E hitting the spot in 5.6 seconds. The BMW iX3 and Mercedes-Benz EQC are slightly less aggressive, clocking in at 6.8 and 5.1 seconds, respectively.
Power
Unleashing 340 horsepower, the Cadillac Lyriq holds its ground firmly. It’s slightly edged out by the thunderous 402 h.p. punch of the Ford Mustang Mach-E but towers above the 286 h.p. of the BMW iX3 and the 408 h.p. might of the Mercedes-Benz EQC.
Charging Time
In the electric pits, charging times can make or break a race. The Cadillac Lyriq offers a decent balance, recharching from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes using a fast DC charger. This is akin to the Tesla Model Y’s swift recharge but undercuts the BMW iX3, which takes around 35 minutes. The Ford Mustang Mach-E and Mercedes-Benz EQC hover close, with charging times at 38 and 40 minutes respectively.
Price
Let’s talk moolah. The Cadillac Lyriq starts at $62,990 (€55,500, £46,000), placing it in the same fiscal bracket as its rivals. The Tesla Model Y tags along a bit higher at $65,990 (€58,200, £47,900). The Ford Mustang Mach-E is slightly cheaper, starting at $53,000 (€46,800, £38,500). Meanwhile, the posh BMW iX3 enters at $65,000 (€57,200, £46,500), and the luxurious Mercedes-Benz EQC rolls in at $67,900 (€60,000, £51,500).
